Welcome the Stranger
Despite a record number of individuals across the globe becoming displaced because of war, natural disaster and humanitarian crises, there is an increasing “crisis of compassion,” often resulting in the perpetuation of stereotypes about and fear of refugees. The Jewish community has a unique connection to these most vulnerable people, as the Holocaust forced the displacement of millions of Jewish people.
Join Gulf Coast JFCS for an inspiring event that will feature the personal stories of Holocaust survivors and refugees, as well as community members committed to ensuring the safety and rights of our diverse neighbors, colleagues and friends. Facilitated dialogue in which all attendees can participate, as well as develop solutions for inclusion, will follow featured presentations.
