Kinship Support Program

The Kinship Support program provides early intervention services to relative/non relative caregivers who provide housing and care to one or more children in the Eckerd System of Care, in an effort to reduce the number of relative/non relative placement disruptions by supporting caregivers and strengthening families.

Services include assisting caregivers with:

· applying for funding
· linkage to community resources
· identifying an informal/formal support system
· family advocacy
· respite care
· in-home parenting training

The program is operated in collaboration with the Case Management Organizations and other stakeholders to keep the children who are at risk of abuse or neglect in a safe and loving home until permanency is achieved.
