Operation Isaiah Food Drive 2013

Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services is gathering food donations to restock the food pantry.  The annual Operation Isaiah food drive is a major source of non-perishable food for the pantry.  Currently, the food pantry supply is very low and food is urgently needed.  The food pantry also offers kosher food to Jewish families who keep kashrut.

The food pantry is a vital part of Gulf Coast’s services.  Over this past year, Gulf Coast supplied food for more than 800 individuals and families, supported entirely through the generous donations of the local community.  GCJFCS received over $14,500 worth of food donations.  The food pantry remains stocked throughout the year from two food drives and donations from individuals, synagogues and business.

This year, Gulf Coast is encouraging the local youth groups and religious schools to help spearhead the collections in their congregations as part of their tzedakah and community service activities.  Operation Isaiah runs through September 23rd.
