Resettlement Program

As an affiliate of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), GCJFCS and the Refugee Services Department this program works to resettle refugees from around the world who have been persecuted based on ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, and/or membership in a social group. Refugees have fled persecution in their home countries and come to America with the dream of providing their families with a life of freedom, safety and liberty. The services provided by our Resettlement Program help refugees become thriving members of their new communities. The goal of the program is to help refugees become self-sufficient so they can care for their families on their own.

Services include:

  • Case Management
  • Housing and Furniture Assistance
  • Cultural Orientation
  • Referrals and Follow up to a wide range of Community Service Providers
  • Employment Services

Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services’ Refugee Resettlement Program is participating in the Match Grant Refugee Employment Program funded by Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and administered by the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS).
