Register for the NPCT Training in Seattle, Washington by 12/5/11

Please join the National Partnership for Community Training for “Building Awareness, Skills & Knowledge: A Community Response to the Torture Survivor Experience” on 12/13/11 in Seattle, Washington at the Tukwila Community Center (12424 42nd Avenue South, Tukwila, WA 98168) from 9:00am-4:30pm. *Registration will take place from 8:30-9:00am where breakfast will be provided.

Hawthorne Smith, Ph.D. and Director of Clinical Services at the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture in New York will be presenting.

The training objectives are:

  • To introduce the concept of trauma-informed approach to service provision including trust and safety.
  • To discuss the marginalization of survivors of torture and the effects on their educational, legal, social services, vocational, and social functioning.
  • To present various multicultural issues in service provision

Certificates of Attendance will be given at the end of the training.
