Extended Geriatric Residential Treatment System (EGRTS) offers a community-based system wherein aging adults are given tools to enhance independent living, preserving the dignity of life.
Located in Broward County, EGRTS is an intensive residential mental health program exclusively for adults 50 years and older.
Treatment is integrated in nature and consists of the following services
- Psychiatric services
- Psychosocial rehabilitation
- Life skills training
Activities Include:
- Community outings to local shops, banks, and businesses with staff supervision and support.
- Day trips to various South Florida area attractions.
- Age-appropriate physical activities including walking, swimming, and dance.
- Visits to local senior activity centers.
- Integration of the arts including music, photography, and other methods of self-expression.
