Child Protective Services

the most vulnerable in our community…

Protective Services Supervision provides in-home protective supervision for an active caseload of 900 children in Pinellas County, 400 children in Polk County and 400 children in Hillsborough County referred by state protective service investigators. Services also include out-of-home and foster care supervision, and adoption services.

Targeted Children’s Case Management helps determine through assessment the needs of children with emotional and behavioral problems. The program assists children and their families with much needed services, and monitors service provision to ensure that client needs are being met.

Young Adult Transitional Housing Program provides eight young adults, ages 18-21 who have aged out of the foster care system, with transition housing for up to 12-18 months. This program is in Pinellas County and serves youth who have “aged out” of the foster care system.

Woman-to-Woman Program is an educational and prevention program for teenage mothers and pregnant girls from Hillsborough County who are at high risk for academic failure and repeat pregnancies. The program provides one-on-one mentoring from community volunteers, weekend retreats, workshops, parent seminars, and linkage with educational and vocational services.

Homeless Emergency Shelter provides emergency housing for up to 24 women and children in Pasco County. Other vital services are provided to assist mothers with job placement and living skills so they can become independent and support their family.
